Dubai Duty Free launch second Environment Award
- United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, November 12 - 2003 at 16:16
- PRESS RELEASE
Dubai Duty Free is expecting a number of entries for its biennial Environment Award which is open to over 400 of the operation's local suppliers.
Dubai Duty Free, which is an ISO14001 and OHSAS 18001 certified company, initiated the awards scheme in 2001 and is expecting an even greater level of interest for 2003.
"The main objective of the Dubai Duty Free Environment Award is to encourage good environmental practices among our suppliers," said Colm McLoughlin, Managing Director of Dubai Duty Free. "We were pleased with the response to the inaugural award scheme, now two years later, many of our suppliers are even more aware of environmental issues and have adopted internationally recognised environmental policies."
Each Environment Award entry will be assessed by a professional panel, which will include Dubai Duty Free's in-house environmental team, using a formal appraisal system. The short listed companies will receive an on-site audit before the final decision.
