The PRIMERGY RXI600 is designed to meet the requirements of the large account market, because of its ability to offer scope for future development. It supports application environments such as databases, business intelligence and data warehousing. It further ensures that applications can gain significant performance advantages from the 64-bit linear storage-focused facilities.

"Fujitsu Siemens Computers has been driving its growth strategies with a primary focus on Business Critical Computing (BCC). The launch of PRIMERGY RXI600 will give large enterprises and high-end users more power to use BCC in all areas of activity," said Colin Britto, Sales Manager Large Enterprises, Gulf Region, Fujitsu Siemens Computers. "Our new server is designed to deliver high performance systems which will support BCC for a broad range of customers. The combination of Intel's Itanium2 processor and FSC enterprise computing expertise will provide businesses with powerful, flexible and scaleable IT solutions, triggering significant cost savings and higher growth."

"The new server significantly overcomes the limitations of the familiar 3-bit architecture. When combined with software solutions that extensively utilize features like Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and High Performance Computer (HPC), the PRIMERGY RXI600 provides complete 64-bit solution stacks for data intensive computing environments," Britto added.

"The simultaneous launch of PRIMERGY RXI600 servers in the Middle East and in many developed countries reflects the importance FSC attaches to this market and clarifies its objectives to empower businesses with the most technologically advanced Business Critical Computer products in this region," Britto said. "The IT market in the Middle East is being driven by tremendous dynamism. Our fast-track growth in the past three years has won us many high-end customers who have a great confidence in our products. Our newest server is aimed at helping these businesses achieve a higher Return on Investment by leveraging technology for achieving optimum performance."

The PRIMERGY RXI600 is unsurpassed among 4-way database servers in terms of high performance. The server fulfills high availability requirements and is optimized for integration for 19-inch racks. It is also designed to benefit the back-end server segment, as a result of system architecture between storage subsystems and application server LANs.

This innovative technology used in the new server will satisfy all user expectations regarding processing performance, optimized storage use, maximum I/O throughput and outstanding hardware reliability. This leads to a significant increase in performance in various areas of the IT infrastructure. Particular targets in the mid-tier range are applications requiring the special qualities of the Itanium2 processor when processing massive quantities of data. These include applications for investment calculation models or extractions and analysis data from enormous databases. Security applications for data encryption or decryption will likewise benefit greatly from the PRIMERGY RXI600's new processor technology.

The large proportion of users who also employ supercomputers from FSCs' High Performance Computing Line (HPC) for complex technical applications also stand to gain, particularly from the Itanium2's increased computing power and better suitability for large Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) models.
