Samsung continues to empower sporting industry in Middle East through its global expertise

Samsung Electronics, the world leader in digital technology, has embarked on a mission to bring the wealth of its global sporting expertise to the Middle East.
"Sport has been used as a platform to promote world peace and in bringing happiness to humanity. Samsung has been connecting with citizens of the world by supporting sporting events including the Olympic Games and the Asian Games. This spirit of sport corresponds with Samsung's corporate philosophy of contributing to humanity worldwide and in the Middle East," said Mr. B.W.Lee, President and CEO, Samsung Middle East and Africa Headquarters.
The Olympic Games has been supported by Samsung since 1997. In addition, Samsung also supports a number of international competitions and events encompassing sports as diverse as horse riding, volleyball, golf, gymnastics and running. Since 1986 Samsung has also been a sponsor of the Asian Games, a massive sports event which attracts thousands of competitors from over 40 countries.
"The support of sporting events is a cornerstone of the company's marketing and communications strategy. While demonstrating Samsung's dedication as a committed corporate citizen, sport plays an important role in elevating brand recognition in the key markets that we operate in," added Mr. Lee.
Samsung's support of sport goes far beyond financial patronage. The company contributes to all major events through its sophisticated digital wireless telecommunication technologies, essential in successful management of the modern day sporting event.
"Whether it is a dramatic goal scored that decides the winner in a soccer game or a runner pushing to challenge the record in a 42 km marathon, sport inspires us and moves us regardless of who wins or loses. We at Samsung believe that sport is unique in its contribution to unifying people of all ages, races or genders," concluded Mr. Lee.
