Dubai Airshow takes off with Shell
- United Arab Emirates: Sunday, November 23 - 2003 at 13:32
- PRESS RELEASE
Shell, a global energy leader, will showcase its energy products and solutions for the aviation industry at this year's Dubai 2003 Airshow, the 8th International Aerospace event, taking off in Dubai on 7 December.
The high-profile, five-day event will display at the purpose built Airport Expo Dubai, the latest products and technologies to top visiting official and trade delegations from over 84 countries, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Lebanon, Egypt, Syria and Kuwait. Shell will be represented by a high-fliers delegation, headed by Shell Aviation's Chief Executive Officer Xavaier Le Mentier. The company is participating in the event both for sound business reasons and to demonstrate its continuing support for Government initiatives.
Mike Lumley, Shell Aviation's General Manager for the Middle East, Central & South Asia, said: "Shell today continues the tradition of offering the aviation industry full support for the business - not just through advanced technologies and products developed at the Shell laboratories but more importantly by being a key business partner capable of offering total support and business solutions.
"It is widely acknowledged in the industry that, without Shell, the story of aviation would read very differently," added Mike. "Shell is much more than a major worldwide supplier. We have a tremendous breadth and depth of knowledge - on everything from formulating better fuels and lubricants to designing and managing cost-effective installations, to providing tailor-made risk management solutions aimed at reducing exposure to fuel price volatility.
"All this combines to help our customers overcome their commercial and technical challenges."
And Shell's customers seem to agree. Shell was voted as the Best International Jet Fuel Marketer in the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific regions, in one of the most respected independent airline industry surveys in the world. The most recent survey of airlines, conducted by Jet Fuel Report (JFR), is published by The Armbrust Aviation Group and is currently in its 8th year.
Mike Lumley explained: "Customer service and support is at the heart of our thinking and our actions. Shell is uniquely qualified to offer appropriate local commercial support, technical back-up and wide-ranging consultancy to its customers."
