Latest developments in glass industry to be highlighted during Big 5 Show
- United Arab Emirates: Thursday, November 27 - 2003 at 11:41
- PRESS RELEASE
The latest developments in the global glass industry and how they impact on the hot climate of the Gulf, will be the highlight of a major conference that will be held on the sidelines of the Big 5 Show.
Dowling will present the paper on the latest developments in the glass industry as well as highlight the company's EmiCool High Performance Glass that is winning prestige contracts like Bahrain's Formula 1, the Century Tower and The Gate from DIFC.
"Everywhere in the Gulf you look around, you see modern steel and glass structures. But there is a problem - of how to balance light and heat. Glass should provide enough light, but not let heat in, thus reducing energy bills," Dowling said while commenting on the subject of his address.
He said EmiCool has been specially developed by Emirates Glass to meet with municipal specifications as also to fulfil the aesthetic demands of architects and designers - not always an easy task to achieve.
Emirates Glass, which is participating at the Big 5 Show, will introduce its new artistically designed one-storey stand. The stand will accommodate the company's latest products such Emi-T, a temperable high-performance glass; Emi-Lam, a laminated high-performance architectural glass; EmiCool vinyl back mirror for wardrobe doors; and Hagen Venetian Blind Systems.
"We could not but be at the Big 5. It will have 1,700 companies from all over the world and we expect to generate a lot of interest in our products. It is a perfect platform for us to highlight and build upon the interest, we have already generated," Dowling said.
During the show that runs from November 29 to December 3 at the DWTC complex, the company will focus on highlighting the benefits of its products to the industry.
