Hilton International to unveil unique lifestyle property

  • United Arab Emirates: Monday, September 03 - 2001 at 11:02
  • PRESS RELEASE

Hilton International is to open its latest property towards the end of September, the Hilton Dubai Creek, introducing the Middle East market to the concept of lifestyle hotels.

Following the latest trend in London and New York, Dubai will play host to a lifestyle hotel, where each guest can expect a personalised, discreet service in very contemporary surroundings. It also offers guests a choice of lifestyle features emulating an environment as near to their home or workplace as possible.

Guy Hutchinson, Manager of the Hilton Dubai Creek, explained: "Before, there was the feeling that top hotels had to be about white gloved service and epauletted doorman. We have moved closer towards how people choose to live - allowing them all the comforts they need, in a stylish clutter-free environment."

Architect Carlos Ott, perhaps best known for his work on the Opéra de la Bastille in Paris and the National Bank of Dubai headquarters, has created the minimalist, avant-garde exterior of glass and stainless steel. And for the first time, Carlos has also designed the interiors of a hotel, and has used a visually arresting mix of chrome, granite, black leather, steel and beechwood.

Guy said: "The interiors are dynamic, modern and uncomplicated, yet Carlos has managed to keep an elegance throughout."

Guests in the property will be able to customise their rooms as they wish, by choosing their in-room entertainment and adding from a large array of items such as a foot massager, DVD player, espresso machine or even an aromatherapy bath prepared in their bathroom.

The food and beverage outlets will be a focal part of the hotel with British chef Gordon Ramsay, who was awarded his fourth Michelin star this year, opening Verre, his first restaurant outside the UK.

Gordon will bring a hand-selected team from his London restaurant to the Hilton Dubai Creek to deliver the uncompromising quality of this concept. This is a pioneering move, as this team will be overseeing every aspect of catering in the lifestyle property, from his signature restaurant Verre by Gordon Ramsay, through the other outlets Glasshouse brasserie, Issimo Milanese espresso bar and Carbon Lounge.

Every dish, sauce, and accoutrement has been created, tried and tested by Gordon himself. What's more, guests need not head into the public areas of the hotel to sample Gordon's award-winning meals, as they can be ordered from the comfort of their own rooms.

"We are very excited to have Gordon and his team on board," said Guy. "Together with our owners, we at Hilton International saw him as the perfect match for this ground-breaking hotel. He is young and dynamic and we consider him to be the top working chef in the world."

Positioned in the heart of Dubai, the Hilton Dubai Creek provides ease of access to the newly expanded Dubai International Airport, world-class leisure venues such as the Creek Golf Course and Dubai's major business centres.

The Hilton Dubai Creek will be managed by Hilton International, together with the recently opened Hilton Dubai Jumeirah, on behalf of its owners, Arenco Real Estate. Guests at the Hilton Dubai Creek will also be able to enjoy the beach and facilities of the Hilton Dubai Jumeirah.
