Master Foods completes decade of business success in the region

Beginning with a small warehouse space in Dubai, today Master Foods' operations has expanded considerably to encompass a state of the art research and development facility, a factory to produce Galaxy® chocolates, a warehouse and executive offices. Its network of associates has expanded to over 10 times the initial number and spans across the region.

"In retrospect setting up our regional headquarters in the UAE was one of Master Foods' best moves," said John Hassan, General Manager, Master Foods Middle East. "The extensive facilities along with Dubai's pivotal location, world class infrastructure and commercial vision have played a major role in helping us to develop our regional business and service to our customers."

To keep up with customer demand, Master Foods has constantly expanded and improved their facilities; a factory was built in 1998 to exclusively produce Galaxy® chocolate products and has since extended three times to incorporate new lines and technology.

In 2000, they expanded their regional headquarters and opened a state-of-the-art research and development facility. The facility focuses on product development to meet local consumer tastes and preferences and the well-known Galaxy® Jewels is an example of a product developed after extensive local research and manufactured in the Dubai factory.

"Master Foods places enormous importance upon research and development and take pride in the fact that our food hygiene and microbiology techniques are among the best in the region," said Christine Greaves, External Relations Manager. "We also believe in sharing our expertise with the local authorities and have worked with them to set-up an independent microbiology lab that includes global benchmarking tests. We are also currently working with the region's leading standards authority, Saudi Arabian Standards Authority (SASO), to develop sensory facilities."

Master Food's commitment to quality and service was recognized when they were presented with the "Best Food Factory" award for excellence, in areas such as outstanding safety and environment standards, good housekeeping, and good with the local authority.
