Al-Futtaim Retail announces the launch of the new Watch House

The Watch House, the watch retail brand from The Al-Futtaim Group Retail division, yesterday launched its new concept store in Deira City Centre.

The launch is part of a local UAE retail strategy that will see the Watch House update all their interiors and exteriors to meet changing market and customer needs, but also to give maximum exposure to the variety of distinct and individual brands which they retail.

Al-Futtaim Group Retail, known for setting standards for innovative retail concepts, like Toys R Us, launched The Watch House in the UAE market in 1997. The Watch House is a unique concept which offers a variety of watch brands to suit every taste and pocket.

Jim McCallum, the Group Director of Al-Futtaim Group Retail said, "The whole Watch House concept needed to evolve. When we launched 6 yrs ago, we were unsure of the market's reaction. The reaction proved good, but with an ever evolving retail market comes evolving customer needs, and the need to adapt to those changes is imperative for survival in such a competitive market."

In an already saturated and competitive watch market, The Watch House has made a bold move in enhancing and investing in a revitalization programme, with a new look and a new position. The move clearly shows a total commitment to the various brand retailed at The Watch House.

McCallum continued, "We believe in the brands we retail, brands such as Seiko, Kolber, Westar, Raymond Weil, Fossil, Esprit and many others. The market needs variety in style and price and we offer that. The concept of retailing them all together under one roof has proved extremely successful. Couple that with a convenient location, we will now be situated on the first floor of DCC, you will have a winning retail concept".

The originality and innovativeness of the Watch House concept comes not only from the sheer practicality of the store, but also from the fact that individual brands get their fair share of customer attention, meaning an ability to cater to all segments of the market and every age group.

Vicki Collier, Retail Sales Manager for Al-Futtaim Watches said, "The Watch House merges range and convenience. Its uniqueness is in its innovation. We want the Watch House to become the first port of call when one wants to buy a watch. Our commitment to meeting our customer's needs is evident in the diverse range we carry. Couple that with a brand new fantastic location, and the Watch House really will become the place to buy your watch."

The Watch House is now located on the 1st level of Deira City Centre, at the IKEA court.
