More than 550 cars to go on display at Motorshow

"This remarkable growth in numbers emphasizes the increasing significance of the Motorshow in both the regional and international perspective with more vehicles on display alongside a breathtaking range of hundreds of automotive retail aftermarket products," said DWTC Director General Mubarak bin Fahad. "The Middle East represents a hugely important market for the automotive industry worldwide, with its high consumption levels and spending capacity," he added.

"The Middle East International Motorshow provides an ideal platform for leading manufacturers worldwide to reach a select audience of customers with Dubai being strategically placed as the trade and commercial hub to a region that includes the GCC, Levant, Africa, Central Asia and the Indian Subcontinent - a region with over 2 billion people and a combined GDP in excess of $1.5 trillion," Mr bin Fahad observed.

The Middle East, in general, and the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC), in particular, is a fast-growing market for the automobile industry. Kuwait is a prime example of a low-volume, high-value market where luxury cars at the top-end category are in great demand. Countries such as the UAE, where more than 50 per cent of the national population is still under the driving age, and high-consumption markets, such as Saudi Arabia, where the total number of automobile units sold per year exceeds 100,000 units, present enormous and untapped opportunities for automobile manufacturers.

Buyers, car aficionados and admirers will be treated to the single largest display of vehicles in the Middle East which will enable discerning visitors to study, compare and select the latest in design and technology that the industry has to offer.

This year's Motor Show will feature a host of manufacturers such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Maybach, Chrysler, General Motors, Ford, Ferrari, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Bentley, Rolls Royce, Jaguar, Maserati, Porsche, Pagani, Land Rover, Toyota, Volvo, Volkswagen, Audi, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Suzuki and Peugeot to name a few showcasing automobiles as well as displaying the global motoring trend to this part of the world. Renowned automobile manufacturers at the show will also unveil futuristic concept cars and prototype vehicles.

With the Motor Show featuring the Motor Parts, Accessories & MotorPlus 2003 as a dedicated section for the automotive aftermarket sector, participating companies will be able to reach a quality audience of end users and traders from the Middle East, N. Africa, Iran and the Asian subcontinent.

This year's edition of the Motorshow also marks the Middle East debut of the 4x4 off-road-circuit which will provide a one of its kind demonstration circuit covering an area of up to 4,000 sq.m. The circuit will be an interactive feature that will provide exhibitors with an attractive and effective prospect to introduce their cars to the end user for test drives and thereby help boost sales.

In a region where passion for cars runs high, the 4x4 circuit will give an additional boost to automobile sales with manufacturers providing their latest models for a region-wide audience to test drive during the five-day show.

Motor Show is poised to attract a large number of visitors, professionals and affluent motor enthusiasts from around the Middle East, North Africa and the Indian sub-continent.
