Grand opening of Dubai Ladies Club

Under the patronage of Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the grand opening of the Dubai Ladies Club will be held on Thursday , 11th December, 2003.

Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Ladies Club, has implemented a major restructuring of the Club, as well as a raft of new projects designed to propel the Dubai Ladies Club into one of the finest such facilities in the region.

"Under the directives of H.H. General Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE Minister of Defence, the Club has executed a massive expansion programme which includes both a management revamp and in collaboration with Dubai Municipality the renovation of its old premises and construction of new facilities including additional centers for entertainment, social and cultural activities," said Her Highness Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed.

Administrative changes have also been implemented to streamline the working of the Club. "The new administrative team of the Dubai Ladies Club has drawn up comprehensive plans to activate the functioning of the Club which can play a vital role in encouraging the participation of women in the development of our society in the new millennium," said Her Highness.

As part of Her Highness Sheikha Manal's interest in arts, the club has launched the 'Art & Talent Centre' to discover and promote talented female artists. The 'Art & Talent Centre' will offer short and long term courses in different art forms and organize exhibitions. The total area of 'Art & Talent Centre' is 1,500 square metres which includes an Exhibition Hall, three other halls for fine art and engravings, a Café, a library and Special Store for selling art related material.

Her Highness affirmed that the changes have been implemented after conducting comprehensive market survey and research. Systematic surveys were also conducted to elicit feedback and suggestions from members.

The management at the Dubai Ladies Club has worked in close association with the members to help improve the services offered at the Club and attract new members.

The expansion includes construction of a state-of-the-art health club facility and as well as one of the finest spas in the region. According to the directives of Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed, the Health Center will also focus on a host of health and fitness programmes such as Reiki, Yoga and Reflexology. The Dubai Ladies Club has also constructed a 20-metre temperature controlled swimming pool.

To facilitate its members, the new management of Dubai Ladies Club has also set up a Crèche for children where the little ones can be well-looked after by competent staff while the mothers relax. The Club is planning to organize activities for members and their children including tennis, swimming, horse riding and water sports as well as regular competitions and events.

Her Highness said, "All these entertainment and informative activities are targeted at women who are an important segment of Dubai's society. Dubai Ladies Club's mission is to excel in helping women nurture their body and nourish their mind by providing a range of innovative and creative facilities."

"The Dubai Ladies Club will be a new bridge for continued cooperation with women boards and organizations at the international and Pan-Arab level. All the ladies in Dubai, especially members, will be able to experience the new facilities of the Club after the Eid Al Fitr." Said H.H. Sheikha Manal.
