Andrew Turner appointed hotel manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Doha

As the luxury hotel market continues to grow throughout the GCC and The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company constantly explores new opportunities, it is no surprise that the stylish hotel chain is increasing the profile of senior management, most recently at The Ritz-Carlton, Doha.
Prior to his arrival in Qatar, Turner was the executive assistant manager, rooms at The Portman Ritz-Carlton, Shanghai and at The Ritz-Carlton Pentagon City in Virginia from 2001 and 2000 respectively. In this role he oversaw the daily running of the rooms division as well as deputizing for the general manager to oversee the entire hotel operation.
Turner commenced his career with The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company L.L.C with a number of leadership roles at the Ritz-Carlton, Double Bay in Australia from 1993 to 1998, including front of house manager, director of housekeeping and director of guest services. Prior to this period he graduated from the City and guilds of London institute at the Intercontinental hotel school in Sydney Australia. In 1998 he then moved to the United States and held the positions of front office manager and director of guest services at The Ritz-Carlton, Buckhead in Atlanta.
Given an enormous amount of operational knowledge to his credit Turners expertise was also sought to assist with the opening of The Ritz-Carlton, Philadelphia in June 2000, The Ritz-Carlton, Kuala Lumpur in November 1997 and The Portman Ritz-Carlton, Shanghai in January 1998.
Turner sees a strong future for The Ritz-Carlton, Doha. "The ladies and gentlemen here make sure they put The Ritz-Carlton Credo into practice on a daily basis. And it really shows, in terms of satisfied customers and repeat business; true reinforcement of the Hotel Company's commitment to quality."
