DTCM and Singapore Tourism Board (STB) officials discuss bilateral cooperation and industry developments

A wide range of issues pertaining to bilateral cooperation between Dubai and Singapore in addition to tourism development initiatives were discussed by top officials of the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) and Singapore Tourism Board (STB) at a meeting held in Dubai recently.

The DTCM Director General, Mr. Khalid A. bin Sulayem, and Mr. Lim Neo Chian, Deputy Chairman and Chief Executive of STB, held talks on the sidelines of the Dubai 2003 Air Show.

Also present at the meeting were Mr. Mohammed Khamis bin Hareb, DTCM Director Operations and Marketing, Mr. Awadh Al Seghayer, Manager, Dubai Convention Bureau, Mr. Eyad Ali Abdul Rahman, DTCM Manager Media Relations, and Mr. Melvern Ong, STB's Area Director for Middle East and Africa.

Mr. bin Sulayem briefed Mr. Lim about the latest development projects underway in Dubai, including The Palm, The World, and Dubailand.
He also told them about the various initiatives launched by the department to promote Dubai in overseas markets.

Mr. Lim offered Mr. bin Sulayem insights into the functioning of the STB and the latest projects and promotions the island-nation had initiated in the tourism industry. He expressed his keen interest in a number of developments that Dubai has undertaken and the impact they will have on the economy in general and tourism industry in particular.

The STB opened a representation office in Dubai a few months ago to oversea the markets of the Middle East and Africa.
