Speaking at the 7th Middle East Motor Show, Dr. Ulrich Bez, CEO of Aston Martin, said: "The launch of the all-new DB9 is a significant moment as it reflects the company today and the future direction that we are now taking. But it's more than just a launch of a new car; it's the re-launch of Aston Martin as a brand. It is a signal that Aston Martin is set to become a serious contender in the world sports car market."

Complementing the popular Aston Martin V12 Vanquish, the DB9 has already received strong interest from customers in the region and led to the forecast that sales are set to double in 2004.

"Clients in the Middle East have a high appreciation of quality brands and we are confident, particularly with the introduction of the DB9, that we can be even more successful in this market," said Thomas Kastgen, General Manager of Middle East Aston Martin.

"We have identified in particular, that both the Saudi Arabian market and customers from the UAE are keenly awaiting the first DB9 models that will be available from the 3rd quarter 2004 in the Middle East."

In line with the anticipated sales boom in the region, Aston Martin has lined up a strategic growth plan that includes creating a purpose-built Aston Martin showroom and After Sales facility in each country.

"It is vital that our customers can visit a showroom where fully trained and hand-picked Aston Martin staff are available to discuss the models and offer a bespoke personal service, " added Thomas Kastgen. "Al Habtoor, Aston Martin's sole agent for the UAE will begin the process with the first state-of-the-art showroom in Dubai early in 2004 and this will pave the way for showrooms in Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia and Qatar in the next 12 months."

Keeping the momentum moving, the Aston Martin DB9 will leave the UAE at the end of the 7th Middle East Motor Show and is being taken on a road-show to each of the GCC countries.
