Sony Car Audio Systems, which has emerged as one the leading players in the now enhanced in-car audio-visual technology market segment, will be showcasing their products at the 7th Motor Show in Dubai on the 11-15 December 2003. This growing range of Sony in-car products will turn driving into a vibrant, enveloping entertaining experience.

The very impressive and exquisitely designed 'Xplod Zone' is situated in Hall 7 stand 7K at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Speaking about Sony's participation in this year's Motor Show in the accessory segment, Mr. Yasuhide Yokota, Managing Director, Sony Gulf FZE said "We see an immense growth in the demand for new technology car audio systems such as Visual entertainment and Hard Disk Player-recorders to replace conventional systems, particularly with the growing trend among the young population to listen to music while driving.

"We are looking forward to notching up a growth of 20 per cent in the car audio sales in the region. The demand for Sony in-car entertainment products has been registering a continuous growth in the region thanks to a versatile range of cutting edge products from the Sony portfolio," Yokota said.

Sony will be showcasing a wide range of products covering CD and cassette units, display monitors, DVD players, amplifiers, CD changers and speakers.

This product line-up exhibits a great range and depth of sound quality. Very unique, with the latest TFT monitors, one can even have personalised screen savers on their head units. These features will definitely provide a truly impressive centrepiece for your car's dashboard.

Mr. Yokota further said "As one of the leaders in the car audio business, Sony has introduced many successful car audio systems to meet the demands of the market and the customer. With the launch of the CDX-M1000TF, Sony has reached another level in car audio systems. This extremely compact design promises to give the customer a drive of their lifetime".

CD Units
In the wide range of master units available from Sony, the focus will be on the latest newcomer, the CDX-M1000TF. This model is equipped with a string of smart features - MP3 playback capability, 4 Volt Pre Out, enabling improved signal-to-noise ratio for superior distortion free sounds and the 7-Band Equaliser (EQ7) controls the levels of base and treble.

Bringing together the convenience of computer technology and smart audio systems, the MEX-1HD features a 10GB built-in hard drive capable of storing up to 2000 tunes. First to incorporate a fully motorised tray, this model features a sleek and slim motorised CD-Tray (35 per cent slimmer than the conventional CD-Tray).

Display Monitors
Sony's in-car entertainment line-up featuring larger LCD monitors to all-in-one DVD models promises pure entertainment on the road. The LDC monitors are built to suit every application; they can be mounted on the roof or on the dashboard. The innovative overhead monitor, the XVM-R70 not only offers tilt and swivel convenience, it also enables reversible picture enjoyment. The XVM-H65 monitor, equipped with a rail in the back and a screw hole on the bottom, offers two mounting options - headrest installation for backseat DVD viewing and dashboard installation for front seat viewing. The XM-H65 also features an integrated infrared transmitter and receiver for convenient wireless remote control operation and headphones usage.

Amplifiers
The new P5 Class D Amplifier, pentagonal shaped, the XM-D1000P5 and XM-D400P5 feature sleek strong lines that ensure maximum flexibility with greater stability and stiffness when delivering power of 1600 watts and 800 watts respectively. Class D Amplifiers are designed to efficiently distribute power by means of output transistors. Workings on a switching method, these transistors turn off and on when too much or too little voltage runs through them. Having the ability to effectively manage and control the flow of power, these Amplifiers deliver higher power output with reduced current and heat dissipation, ensuring the most outstanding in-car audio performance.

Speakers
Available in different series - HF, V, GT and GT series, Sony's extensive speaker range takes in-car entertainment to a new high. Flaunting a one-piece aluminium cone and voice coil, the HF series is designed to deliver pristine sound definition and precision. Audiophiles can tune into detailed mid-range sounds with the V Series - most suited for revelling classical sonnets. Spotting a sleek shape, the GT Series features a larger monocoque type diaphragm for tighter bass performance while at the same time handling power and distortion efficiently. Excellent for rock tunes and extreme bass requirements. Sony's affordable line of speakers, the elegant GF Series gives road listeners quality sounds to take to the roads. Featuring a new pure aluminium diaphragm, this Series is sensitive to energetic, stable and clear mid and high sounds.
