DTCM discuss tourism market trends with hotels and tour operators

The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) today organized a special meeting with the major players of Dubai's tourism industry to share their views and feedback on the market trends and future growth prospects.
The meeting took place the DTCM Head Office and attended by representatives of over 35 prominent hotels, tour operators, and ground handling companies.
Mr. bin Sulayem had called for the meeting taking into account the views expressed by the participants of the sixth meeting of the Hotels and Hotel Apartments Group held in Dubai last week.
The participants expressed their views about the prevailing market trends and the potential market scenario in the year 2004 in the source markets for the Dubai tourism.
The department regularly conducts market feedback surveys in the emirate and through its network of overseas offices to ensure that its promotional and marketing campaigns match the market expectations.
Earlier, the department had announced that it has added four new exhibitions to its list of overseas promotions as part of the move to consolidate its market share in key geographical regions across the world.
Mr. bin Sulayem has asked for the formation of an adhoc committee to receive the private sector's proposals and suggestions for consideration in the marketing and promotional plans of the department for the year 2004.
