- PRESS RELEASE
Microsoft South Gulf and systems integrator W.J. Towell Computer Services have announced a strategic partnership to help build the level of Microsoft Enterprise solutions expertise in the Sultanate of Oman.
The partnership will focus on raising the levels of expertise and quality of Microsoft solutions deployment in Oman. W.J. Towell Computer Services is in the process of appointing a team of trained, certified and highly skilled Microsoft engineers, including pre-sales and software development support, to increase its capability to implement Microsoft's enterprise solutions.
In addition, as part of the commitment to the Omanisation program, the team will also incorporate a number of young Omani IT professionals, who will be trained as Microsoft engineers. The enterprise team from Microsoft Oman will also be on hand to support and assist activities as required to ensure consistently excellent standards.
"Enterprise level customers in Oman are demanding more advanced and more complex solutions than just simple licensing sales," said Abdullatif Almulla, General Manager of Microsoft South Gulf. "Customers need to be able to test and assess solutions, as well as exploring the best combination and options for their business. With the testing center, our customers will be even more confident that they will be getting the best return on investment from their Microsoft enterprise solutions.
"Microsoft Oman has worked closely with W.J.Towell Computer Services in the past, and we are extremely confident in the organization's ability to meet the needs of the enterprise market," Mr. Almulla added.
The Microsoft.NET Solutions Showcase Centre at KOM will provide a vital resource for Microsoft and W.J. Towell Computer Services as they will be able to demonstrate their capabilities to enterprise and government customers in Oman. Demonstrating this 'proof of concept' will enable the customers to test and assess the solutions in the lab, before implementation, saving on implementation time and thereby reducing costs.
"W.J. Towell Computer Services has always played a pivotal role in developing the IT industry in the Sultanate. We are very committed to the Omanization program, and actively support initiatives that help to make the Sultanate an IT literate country," said Mr. Jamil Ali Sultan, Director.
"We have solid business relationships with key public and private entities across Oman. Partnering with Microsoft is a mark of our firm belief in the value which Microsoft technology provides to our customers," added Mr. Ali Shaban, General Manager.
