- United Arab Emirates: Sunday, December 14 - 2003 at 09:58
- PRESS RELEASE
UAE-based garment manufacturer, AMCO, has signed up for the ePayment services of Comtrust, the e-business unit of Etisalat to complete the 'e' enabling of its outerwear business culminating in the launch of www.amcoouterwear.com, AMCO's new B2B e-commerce portal.
"AMCO has consolidated its manufacturing facilities here in the Middle East, yet our market is truly global. The new portal has been designed to allow our customers from around the world to view our latest collections, select and purchase samples all online," said Mr. Rashid Anwar. "By allowing customers to conduct business remotely in a much speedier and efficient manner and reducing the time taken to select orders, we endeavour to shorten the overall fulfilment timeline."
The first ISO 9001:2000 certified Apparel Manufacturer & Supplier in the UAE, AMCO says it expects business via its new Internet channel to grow quickly, with the company expecting to be processing orders worth $5 Million per annum in a 3 years time.
When asked about Comtrust's role, Sajid Anwar, I.T Manager, AMCO Group had this to say, "Obviously, a critical part of any business is payment. Comtrust is the only regional organisation with the experience, technology and connectivity to deliver the level of service we require as a business."
Comtrust will be responsible for providing the secure and efficient transaction environment enabling AMCO to transact with customers, banks and card networks on the Internet.
Comtrust recently expanded it ePayment offering to regional merchants with its introduction of American Express online payment services. "Comtrust is now able to offer regional e-business the ability to accept online payments from the world's three leading card brands - Visa, MasterCard and American Express - and this can only benefit businesses such as AMCO," said Saoud Al Shamsi, Sales Manager, Comtrust.
