Katia Tayar, President & CEO Arabcom group stated : 'Delegates attending the summit exceeded 400 participants coming from all over the Gulf Region, including top level Representations from various Governments, Diplomats, Businessman, Industrialists, Doctors, Publishers and Delegates from the various sectors and industries including Oil & Gas, Bank, Distribution, Courier, Transportation, Advertising, Telecom and IT, GSM Operators, ISP's, Shipping, Freight Forwarding, Malls, Hotels, Restaurants, and many others.

The exhibit floor at the Emirates Towers Hotel witnessed professional visitors attending to discover how to implement Mobility in their companies or departments to become more efficient and productive, and to reduce their operations costs.As the region's first ever PDA and Pocket PC trade show entered its second and last day, several companies were at the forefront demonstrating their latest wares and services to the trade visitors and end-users.

The importance and future potential of the first PDA Summit was evidenced by the fact that the event was chosen by several global vendors as the prestigious venue for many avant premiere launches of their products. From the latest in PDAs to comprehensive new solutions for the mobile computing industry, these launches and product demos were witnessed by large numbers of both trade visitors and end-users from the Public & private public.

The specialized Expo running in parallel with the Summit was heavily frequented by high-level visitors representing various professions and industries. The exhibitors comprised many of the leading global telecom and IT players such as palmOne, ADB, IBM, Intel, HP, Symantec, Microsoft, U.S.Robotics, Socket Communications, Sony, Acer, Intermec. Symbol, etc, as well as several new and young but promising regional companies with their unique and innovative products and solutions. The success of the Expo was proven by the many deals which took place between the trade visitors and the exhibitors during the two days of the event.

At the end of the Second Day's Summit Recommendations were issued stating that organizing such summits is absolutely essential for the Middle East and Gulf region as mobile computing has become so prevalent today that it can no longer be limited to a general IT or Telecom exhibition. Therefore a separate event dedicated to this specific sector is a must now and the first PDA Summit has filled this need in a timely and highly professional manner.

Recommendations also came out that implementing a digital culture has become as necessary as basic literacy for the people in the region today. For this reason ICT should be used extensively in schools and universities in addition to governments because of its benefits.

All the Top Speakers and Supporters stressed that they should participate in the next summit because of the various direct and indirect benefits resulting from the interaction of the participants and trade visitors. The Sponsors and Governmental Supporters also quick to stress that they will all participate in the next summit and continue to give their full support, adding that all those who participated were really very pleased at the level of professionalism with which this first event was organized. They were also impressed by the high level of attendees present on both days of the event.
