Ford trucks and SUVs steal the show
- United Arab Emirates: Monday, December 15 - 2003 at 09:34
- PRESS RELEASE
The 2004 Lincoln Navigator, the latest version of the marque that pioneered the luxury full-size SUV segment back in 1997, is making its GCC debut at the 7th Middle East Motor Show - and sports utility enthusiasts looking for a touch of Beckham-esque bling, bling - not to mention the punch of a 5.4-litre V8 engine - won't be disappointed.
Dual-zone climate control, memory settings for the front seats, accelerator and brake, and novel white LEDs that illuminate cabin switches and controls speak volumes about the attention to detail that has gone into the vehicle.
"The Lincoln Navigator put luxury SUVs on the map," said Jim Benintende, managing director of Ford Middle East. "From the satin steel finishes and burl walnut of the interior to the quietness of the cabin while driving, it's clear that Lincoln has spared no expense to deliver genuine luxury to its valued customers."
The all-new 2004 F-150 truck also is featured on the Ford stand as the crowning glory of one of the largest truck and SUV ranges on show from any manufacturer at this year's Middle East International Motor Show in Dubai.
Launched across the GCC earlier this month, the all-new F-150 looks set to re-define the standards for truck capability, comfort and styling after wowing the critics on its debut in the United States.
Jim Benintende said: "With the Escape, Explorer, Expedition, Everest, Excursion, Ranger and F-150 models - as well as its Europe-made Fiesta, Focus and Mondeo - Ford in the Middle East is showing that it can meet every motoring need of every customer, offering everything from the nimblest small car to the hardest working trucks and SUVs. The new F-150 - the world's best-selling truck for the past 26 years - is a shining example of Ford's product-led transformation and reflects the company's 85 years of experience in trucks and the 55-year heritage of the F-Series nameplate."
The all-new F-150 comes in five models, from the entry level F-150XL to the state-of-the-art F-150 Lariat, and packs in a total of 150 patented components. The vehicle's powertrain, frame, steering and suspension have all been re-designed and the truck's towing capacity of 9,500 pounds and its payload of 2,900 pounds are both best in class.
