Bosch spark plugs have contributed to enhancing performance in all types of vehicles, since Bosch first patented a superior spark plug 100 years ago. Quality, reliability, adaptability and safety are associated with the Bosch name and the company maintains a high reputation worldwide.

Jacek Siwinski, General Manager, Bosch Automotive Aftermarket Middle East, said: "As a pioneer in spark plugs technology, Bosch has been introducing innovations that have added new safety elements to vehicles. Some of the engine types are exclusively fitted with Bosch spark plugs by the automotive manufacturers."

"Bosch gives high priority to efficiency and reliability while designing spark plugs. In many cases we work directly with car manufacturers in engine development for creating the most appropriate spark plug, because car technology is changing constantly and modern engines require spark plugs that integrate with the rest of the engine parts," Siwinski added.
"The vibrant automotive market in the Middle East has generated increased demand for Bosch components, especially our spark plugs. In our service centers and workshops we get many customers who insist on fitting Bosch spark plugs in their vehicles, even though other brands were originally fitted," said Jacek Siwinski.

Bosch has gained recognition for ignition performance, power and elasticity as well as optimal fuel utilization, protection of the catalytic converter and endurance. Bosch's technological advancements are reflected in spark plugs with platinum alloy and Super Plus Yttrium spark plugs with high corrosion resistant nickel-yttrium alloy.

Bosch's excellence in spark plugs goes back a hundred years when Bosch presented the first spark plug combined with a high-tension magneto ignition system. On January 7, 1902, the company was awarded a patent for this groundbreaking development. The reliable Bosch ignition system solved the main problem associated with early automotive technology. Together with improvements in production technology, it was the spark plug that laid the foundations for the rapid increase in automobile production over the decades that followed.

Today, the Bosch spark plug plays a key role in fuel economy, clean and efficient combustion and the reliable operation of engines and catalytic converters. Technological advancement helped to increase the life of a spark plug to about 20,000 to 30,000 km, some 20 to 30 times higher than the figure 90 years ago.
