2013 Emerging Markets Conference and Exhibition concludes on high note

Airport CEOs, Civil Aviation Authority officials and suppliers from emerging markets across the Middle East, CIS, Africa, Indian Continent and Eastern Europe convened at the region's leading airport event, Emerging Markets Conference and Exhibition (EACE 2013).

The conference attracted 250 delegates from over 26 countries and came to a close after two days of revitalizing and thought provoking sessions led by regional and international airport professionals.

The 2013 Emerging Markets Conference and Exhibition (EACE 2013) was jointly organised by the Arabian Reach in collaboration with Media Sultan, and was supported some leading airports and technology and service providers.

It is estimated that Emerging Markets have allocated more than $110bn for airport development projects over the next few years.

Raj Menon, Conference manager said, "We are pleased to host the 2013 Emerging Markets Conference and Exhibition in Dubai, UAE. The purpose of this conference was to provide key strategies, visions and a unique networking platform for professionals in the airport industry, and after speaking with several attendees and delegates, we have been informed that we accomplished our goals."

The conference heard from a number of speakers, including H.E. Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director General, UAE GCAA who delivered a keynote speech, Adel Al Qaoud & Osamah Nijem, Kuwait Civil Aviation - projects Department who spoke on the recently announced US$6.2bn expansion project of Kuwait International Airport, Khalfan Al Shueili, General Manager - Readiness, Oman Airports management Company who presented the Oman governments strategic plans to expand its current airport capacity, Ms Talar Faiq, Director, Erbil International Airport, KRG-Republic of Iraq, who threw light on the performance and expansion of EBL airport, Fritznathan Bruce, Country Manager- Iraq, ADPI Designs & Planners who introduced Iraq's newly announced 6 million passenger Phase 1 capacity Middle Euphrates Airport, Ms Doreen Owusu Fianko, Managing Director, Ghana Airports Company ltd. who presented Ghana Airports rehabilitation and expansion projects, Fahd Karim, Advisor Cox Bazar airport project who made a presentation of Bangladesh's Cox Bazar International Airport, Phillipe Keller, Business Development Manager who spoke on their Lidar Solutions, Herbert Whitteman, Director Microsens who presented the company's airport solutions to the delegates. Dr. Khalid Almazroui, Founding President, Green Aviation and Logistics Group attended in the capacity of the conference chairman. Major part of the second session of the both days of the conference were devoted to business networking and one-to-one meetings, to help build good connections and business relationships.

The highlight of the event was the prestigious Emerging Markets Airport Awards (EMAA) Ceremony. To recognize and honour organizations and individuals who are driving force and energy behind excellence of airport sector in emerging market, a gala dinner was held on 30th January 2013.
