Emarat officially inaugurates its vehicle testing and re-registration centers 'Shamil'

HE Major General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Commandant General, Dubai Police Force and HE Rashid Hamad Al-Shamsi, General Manager, Emarat officially opened the Emarat vehicle testing and registration centres under the brand name 'Shamil', at Al-Adhed Emarat service station (near Port Rashid) in Bur Dubai.
At an estimated construction cost of AED 15 million, Emarat plans to operate a total of 5 Vehicle Testing Centers at convenient locations in the city. Beside Al-Adhed, Shamil centers are also open to motorists at Nad Al-Hamar in Deira, close to the Rashidiya Interchange and at Muhaisnah, approx 500 meters from Al Ghusais Police Stations towards Sharjah.
Commenting at the time of opening ceremony, HE Rashid Hamad Al-Shamsi, GM - Emarat "At Emarat we have an ongoing commitment to identify customer needs and expand our lines of products and services to meet those requirements". "The Shamil vehicle testing and registration centers will not only provide alternative venues for motorists, to test their vehicles and renew registration, but will be uniquely positioned to offer this service in the minimum time and maximum comfort possible, while ensuring that customer obtain all his requirements under one roof".
Added Mr Shamsi: "Dubai police must be applauded for their excellent services to the general public. They are constantly seeking to improve road safety and are committed to enhancing facilities for residents".
"Shamil" will provide integrated service facilities so that entire procedure of vehicle testing and registration renewal will be completed in just less than 30 minutes. The whole process will be electronic and will require no document from the motorist except for the registration card and insurance policy. Moreover, "Shamil" will also have auto insurance facilities and kiosks where motorists can pay traffic fines in cash or through credit cards.
"The move on the part of Dubai Police to privatize some of its services without any additional costs to the public has been very successful. An example of this is what we see today with the launch of Shamil at Emarat service stations. We will continue to work closely with Emarat to provide the best service to the community in the future", said HE Major General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Commandant General, Dubai Police Force.
