Villa Moda Kuwait provides wireless Internet connection in cooperation with Al Alamiah

Al Alamiah Computer Software Co., part of the Al Alamiah Group, announced that it has executed the works necessary to provide Wireless Fidelity services for Internet connectivity via what is known as 'Hot Spots' within Villa Moda, the commercial complex in Kuwait city.

"The first phase of the project secures connectivity at a speed of 256 kilobits per second, and covers all the areas, halls and restaurants of the complex. The second phase will be studied with several other companies, in order to provide connectivity speeds reaching 2 megabits per second, and will benefit from the complex's strategic location with a view to covering wider neighboring areas, such as the 'future' freezone, as well as Kuwait University which will enable university students to make use of this achievement," Al Sharekh explained.
"Hot Spots" are points which allow wireless Internet connection. The number of "Hot Spots" is on the increase worldwide, offering users the total freedom of wireless Internet connectivity while on the move, any time, anywhere. According to a study carried out by "International Data Corporation (IDC)", the number of "Hot Spots" worldwide is expected to reach 118,000 points during 2005.
"Villa Moda" thus becomes the first commercial complex in Kuwait to offer wireless connectivity. Visitors using Laptops with Centrino processors, PCMCIA wireless connection, or any other equipment with wireless capabilities, can now access the Internet wirelessly at "Villa Moda" at high speeds and without the need for wires at all. This means that they can enjoy connecting to the Internet during their visit and conduct their businesses from anywhere within the complex that is covered by this service quickly & easily. This includes checking emails, calling offices, receiving files stored on company websites, browsing the Internet, and sending email to clients & customers, without worrying about having cabled Internet connection.
