GITEX Hyderabad was launched in 2002 to serve the huge Indian information technology and communications (ICT) market, in association with the Government of Andhra Pradesh ICT Department.
'The GITEX brand name has become synonymous with ICT and the event has progressed over the last couple of years to become an ideal business platform for companies to display latest technologies and launch new products and services,' said DWTC General Manager Exhibitions, Leasing and Operations, Abdulla T. Qassem.
Commenting on the association between DWTC and AME Info, Mr. Qassem said, 'We are convinced our association with AME Info will extend the reach of our news throughout the region. Our continuing partnership with AME Info means we get massive global coverage and exposure immediately and for a long time after the show.'
GITEX Hyderabad 2003 registered a growth of 56% in the number of exhibitors participating at the event and an increase in floor space of 57%. The first edition of GITEX Hyderabad attracted more than 2,500 visitors. GITEX Hyderabad 2003 attracted around 4,500 trade visitors and media, recording a 75% jump.
'AME Info's unique watchlist service means show visitors, exhibitors and other interested parties can choose to view only the news they require at http://www.gitexhyderabad.com. E-mail alerts when there is a new item on the watchlist are also highly effective,' said Klaus Lovgreen, Chief Executive Officer, AME Info.
AME Info's 'Watchlist' service is designed to ensure registered users have more time to focus on doing business, rather than trawling through masses of irrelevant news.
The DWTC will also be able to utilise AME Info's unique broadband content provision. 'Both the AME Info web site and the GITEX web site will feature all the press releases from the show, alongside broadband video interviews with GITEX exhibitors, trade visitors, and senior trade centre officials,' added Lovgreen.
'We are thrilled that the DWTC has once again seen the value of a strategic partnership with AME Info as the on-line news provider of choice,' he concluded.
GITEX Hyderabad 2004 will showcase an enormous range of IT related products and services. While the main exhibition will retain its focus on trade professionals, consumers looking to purchase computer equipment and electronic gadgetry can do so at the GITEX Computer Shopper that has been added as a new component to the event this year, to target those seeking equipment for personal use.
AME Info more than trebled its number of users and information downloads last year to reach 1.5 million page views per month with 1.3 million users. The site's international profile is now being boosted by a doubling of its global advertising exposure on international news channel, CNN for 2003.
AME Info's audited results show users from Saudi Arabia are the site's most prolific audience accounting for 16% of traffic. United Arab Emirates users are in second place, making up 14% of the audience, and Egypt third with 12%. The majority - 81% of users - are male, with 33% in executive or senior management posts and almost two thirds are aged between 30-50.
Award-winning AME Info is the Middle East's leading provider of regional business news, content and analysis. Site content is delivered to Reuters, Dow Jones, FT, AmEx, HSBC, MSN Arabia and Palm Arabic as well as AvantGo.
