Avocent commands over 70% of KVM over IP market
- United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, January 07 - 2004 at 11:20
- PRESS RELEASE
OnLine Distribution, Avocent's leading Middle East distributor, has released the findings from the 'KVM Switch Solutions: Global Market Assessment', published recently by VDC, after a nine month analysis of the global KVM market and its eighty one most important vendors.
"Avocent was one of the early pioneers of IP switching, and its market share reflects its early mover position and channel reach," said Keith Rich, Managing Director, OnLine Distribution. "Avocent certainly has the market presence and global reach to continue to be the leading supplier of KVM switches."
While growth is slowing in most of the KVM marketplace globally, Avocent is focusing on its KVM-over-IP products where prospects are still bright. The company continues to exploit its first-mover position by expanding product lines and aggressively marketing its products, thereby keeping its competitors constantly playing catch up. VDC believes that Avocent is well positioned to remain the leading player for the foreseeable future"
The company has many of the key ingredients needed to maintain or exceed its lead including heavy investment into R&D, strong relationships with its private label customers, excellent brand recognition and a reputation for quality.
