Air Arabia takes off to Doha in Qatar

Air Arabia's inaugural flight to Qatar flew an official delegation, led by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah Al-Thani to Qatar International Airport, where they were met by dignitaries, press and officials. Following the flight, VIP guests were greeted with a small reception in Qatar International Airport which included speeches by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah Bin Moh'd Al-Thani and Adel Ali.

Speaking on the occasion, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah Al-Thani said: "We are pleased to start operations to Qatar, and we look forward to expanding our service offerings in the region". He added: "Air Arabia is committed to enabling customers who have not been able to afford air travel in the past to start travelling throughout the region and those who do travel to travel more frequently".

Flights to Doha will operate every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 07:00, as well as every Tuesday and Saturday at 19:50. A one way ticket from Sharjah to Doha will start at Dirhams 170 - excluding government taxes, with similar fares available for the return trip.

"I would like to thank the government and aviation authorities of Qatar for their role in facilitating our operations and all their cooperation in making this possible," said Adel Ali.

Air Arabia is a Sharjah government-owned airline which is currently flying from Sharjah to Bahrain daily, Beirut four days a week, Damascus three days a week, Kuwait three days a week, and Muscat four days a week. Doha is the first in a line up of new destinations which Air Arabia will operate to in January, these include: Alexandria and Assiut in Egypt; Isfahan, Shiraz, and Tehran in Iran; Aleppo in Syria and Colombo in Sri Lanka.
