  • PRESS RELEASE

Following the success of the first two months of operations, Air Arabia LLC, UAE's national airline and first low-cost airline of its kind in the Middle East & North Africa region, made its inaugural flight to Assiut in Egypt last night - its first flight to the North African Continent, with Mr. Ali Fairooz, Air Arabia's Director of Sales & Marketing accompanying the flight.

Air Arabia's inaugural flight to Assiut flew an official delegation, led by Ali Fairooz, Air Arabia's Director of Sales & Marketing to Assiut's Airport, where they were met by dignitaries, press and officials. Following the flight, guests were greeted with a small reception in Assiut Airport

Speaking on the occasion, Fairooz said: "We are pleased to start operations to Assiut, and we look forward to expanding our service offerings in Egypt". "Air Arabia is committed to enabling customers who have not been able to afford air travel in the past to start travelling throughout the region and those who do travel to travel more frequently," he added.

Flights from Sharjah to Assiut will operate every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at 19:00. A one way ticket from Sharjah to Assiut will start at Dhs 299 - excluding government taxes, with similar fares available for the return trip.

"I would like to thank the Egyptian government and aviation authorities for their role in facilitating our operations and all their cooperation in making this possible," said Fairooz.

Air Arabia is a Sharjah government-owned airline which is currently flying from Sharjah to Bahrain daily, Beirut 4 days a week, Damascus 3 days a week, Kuwait 3 days a week, and Muscat 4 days a week. Air Arabia will operate to 8 new destinations in January, including: Alexandria and Assiut in Egypt; Isfahan, Shiraz, and Tehran in Iran; Aleppo in Syria; Doha in Qatar; and Colombo in Sri Lanka.

Air Arabia offers tremendous opportunities to travellers who are looking for competitive fares. It aims to make air travel more convenient and frequent, while providing the lowest fares in the market without sacrificing the standards of quality or service offered.
