Starting January 10, 2004, customers will be able to collect points on their purchases in the ratio of one Air Mile for every Dirham spent at post-offices. They can then redeem these points against attractive rewards from Air Miles, such as free air travel, hotel stays, electronics, restaurant meals, books, movies, jewellery and other items.

"As a customer-centric organization, Emirates Post is constantly seeking ways to enhance customer satisfaction," said Mr. Abdulla Al Daboos, Director General, Emirates Post. "By establishing a partnership with Air Miles we are stepping up our efforts in this direction. Our customers can now acquire attractive products and services by just utilizing our services, without paying anything extra. We are positive this will enhance customer satisfaction and give them one more reason to shop at post-offices."

"Emirates Post has launched an ambitious strategy to expand its retail operations, especially in non-postal areas. Our customer loyalty programme comes at the right time, because we foresee a significant increase in customers due to our diversified services," Mr. Al Daboos added. "We are pleased to enter into an alliance with Air Miles, the customer loyalty programme operator that has gained an excellent reputation in the Gulf and worldwide, and we look forward to continued collaboration in delivering high-value customer rewards."

Mr. Dave Battiston, General Manager, Air Miles Middle East, said: "This partnership between the Middle East's largest and most successful retail loyalty programme and a world-class postal services provider is guaranteed to give some exciting rewards to customers, for free. By offering Air Miles to customers across Emirates Post's network of post offices, we are set to expand our reach further and consolidate our position as the market leader in customer loyalty programme."

"The Air Miles programme offers customers the fastest way to collect points and redeem them against some fabulous products and services," added Mr. Battiston. "Emirates Post customers will be informed about our great offers through regular statements. We are delighted to establish this relationship with Emirates Post and we will work hard to ensure that Emirates Post customers receive enhanced benefits from our programme."

To join the customer loyalty programme, Emirates Post customers can sign up by filling an application form at any post office. They will then receive an Air Miles card which has to be presented during each transaction to accrue Air Miles. Customers will get a quarterly statement giving details about the Air Miles collected, redemption centers and products available. Customers can go online at www.airmilesme.com to find out about the rewards or call the Air Miles Service Centre on 04 391 3400.

Emirates Post has added a host of retail and community services to its portfolio recently, including mobile phones and accessories, stationery and greeting cards, telephone cards, Dubai Municipality's pre-paid parking cards, Etisalat payment machines and DEWA bill payment facility. More services, including retail banking by Union National Bank, are being added in a phased programme.
