Empost joins Dubai Shopping Festival 2004 as support sponsor

  • United Arab Emirates: Monday, January 12 - 2004 at 13:16
  • PRESS RELEASE

The UAE's national courier company, Empost, has joined the upcoming community festivities associated with the Dubai Shopping Festival 2004 as one of the sponsors of the world-famous event.

"It is our endeavour and priority to be part of the community we serve. We are a 100 per cent UAE national company and as the country's courier company, it is our duty to support events that promote the country and which are of benefit to the community, the residents and the business sector," said Essa M. Al Daboos, General Manager of Empost.

He said Empost will - for the first time - sponsor Dubai Shopping Festival as a Support Sponsor.

"Sponsorship of the Dubai Shopping Festival is a highly coveted prize for companies based in the UAE. We have been offering to support the event and we are extremely pleased that our offer has been accepted," Al Daboos pointed out.

"It is a matter of pride in the community-mindedness of the country's corporate sector that the Dubai Shopping Festival each year gets an overwhelming offer of support - all of which it cannot accept.

Proud to be Part
"We are proud to be part of the month-long family-oriented festivities that not only provide fun, entertainment and great value for money for the residents, but also for the many visitors that come from all corners of the globe to Dubai," added the Empost General Manager.

Dubai Shopping Festival is one of the region's greatest fun-cum-business events. Figures for last year's Shopping Festival reveal a massive increase in both visitors and spending over previous years. Visitors hit a record 2.92 million while expenditure rose to a massive Dhs5.12 billion. Money spent at shops was a whopping Dhs3.9 billion, while eating out and entertainment expenditure grossed Dhs650 million.

"Going by the trend, DSF 2004 is certain to achieve new heights," Al Daboos said adding that Empost wishes to be part of that success as a supporter and as a sponsor.

Exciting Schemes
"Empost is currently working on exciting new schemes for the Dubai Shopping Festival 2004 that we hope will greatly benefit our clients, customers and users. We are, at the moment, refining our proposals and will announce them closer to the festival," said the company General Manager.

This year's Shopping Festival will be held from January 15 to February 15.

DSF 2004 sponsorship would also provide Empost with benefits. These include advertising and public relations benefits that allow DSF logo utilisation rights for sales promotions purposes, limited DSF merchandising material at no cost and mention of major events/promotions organised by the Empost in official calendar of events.
