HH Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi said at the ceremony that it is important for Arab nations to enhance awareness of voluntary work among youngsters, as this will benefit future generations and society as a whole.
BP Middle East runs a number of programmes aimed particularly and the youth of the region, most notably the BP Young Adventurers, an outdoor pursuits learning programme to develop the self-confidence and social responsibility of young GCC nationals.
The award was accepted on behalf of BP by Dr Mike Daly, president of BP Middle East and Pakistan, while a second award for supporting the event was presented to Abdulkarim Al Mazmi, president and general manager of BP Sharjah.
BP wins voluntary work award
Oil major BP was honoured for its voluntary work by the ruler of Sharjah at the inaugural Sharjah Voluntary Work Awards ceremony held at the Sharjah Cultural Palace recently.
