Special Bus service to Global Village to start January 15

In order to facilitate residents, tourists and all visitors to the Emirate of Dubai during the DSF 2004, the Public Transport Department of Dubai Municipality has announced special bus services during the shopping festival.
He said that the buses will operate from 4pm to 12am on weekdays and up to 1am on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and public holidays.
"Connecting people from different parts of the Emirate the buses will terminate outside the Global Village main entrance at bus stops designated for this service", said Malik.
He also mentioned that this year's buses will operate five routes during the festival period.
The Global Village bus service, which was run on three routes last year, was immensely popular. Over 8,000 passengers used it daily aggregating to a staggering figure of over 250,000 passengers. ýThis year the service is likely to muster a larger support as more areas are covered.
Passengers who desire more information on the service can contact the Toll Free Number 800 4848. Residents and tourists can collect their free copy of the specially designed timetable for the Global Village bus service.
The Public Transport Department will arrange various activities and competitions at its stall in the Global Village located at the main entrance. The activities will include presentation by a professional presenter, music, magic show with an interactive magician, musical games, spot quiz, painting contest for children and a talent contest. Exciting prizes will be offered to all the winners of different competitions held at the stall.
