Air Arabia's inaugural flight to Colombo flew an official delegation; led Ali Fairooz, Air Arabia's Director of Sales & Marketing to Colombo's Airport, where they were met by dignitaries, press and officials. Following the flight, guests were greeted with a small reception in Colombo Airport

Speaking on the occasion, Ali Fairooz said: "We are pleased to start operations to Colombo, and we look forward to expanding our service offerings in the Indian Sub-Continent". He added: "Air Arabia is committed to enabling customers who have not been able to afford air travel in the past to start travelling throughout the region and those who do travel to travel more frequently".

Flights from Sharjah to Colombo will operate every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 20:50.

"I would like to thank the Sri Lankan government and aviation authorities for their role in facilitating our operations and all their cooperation in making this possible," said Ali Fairooz.

Air Arabia is a Sharjah government-owned airline which is currently flying from Sharjah to Bahrain daily, Beirut four days a week, Damascus three days a week, Kuwait three days a week, and Muscat four days a week. Air Arabia will operate to eight new destinations in January, including: Alexandria and Assiut in Egypt; Isfahan, Shiraz, and Tehran in Iran; Aleppo in Syria and Doha in Qatar.

Air Arabia offers tremendous opportunities to travellers who are looking for competitive fares. It aims to make air travel more convenient and frequent, while providing the lowest fares in the market without sacrificing the standards of quality or service offered.
