- United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, September 05 - 2001 at 10:07
- PRESS RELEASE
Some 36 young UAE nationals have just completed two-months of work experience with the Emirates Group, organised by the Group's National Recruitment and Development unit.
Some found themselves working with Group divisions such as Human Resources, Procurement and Logistics and at the Emirates Training College. Others gained an insight into airport operations with Dnata Airport Services; others worked with Emirates Engineering, the airline's Ticketing and Reservations department, Emirates Holidays and Arabian Adventures.
All gained from working in a multi-cultural environment, working in English and Arabic, gained skills in dealing with people and exercised their technical skills.
At the end of the summer, they were all presented with Certificates of Appreciation for their contributions.
Abdul Aziz Al Ali, Emirates Head of Human Resources, said: "We conduct this work experience project for our young nationals each summer and consider it to be a vital part of our overall contribution to the career development of this country's young people. At the same time, we greatly value the contribution that they make to the Group."
The National Recruitment and Development Unit aims to recruit UAE national graduates and place them in jobs best suited to their skills. The unit runs major ongoing training for UAE nationals such as the Graduate Training Programme, the Ab-Initio Pilot Programme, the Cabin Crew Training Programme and the Aircraft Engineering Programme.
