DSF unveils 200 exciting events and 150 promotions from Key Sponsors and Support Sponsors

Saeed Mohammed Al Nabouda, CEO of Dubai Shopping Festival has announced that the ninth DSF will signify the increased level of quality on all parameters.

He assured that the Dubai Shopping Festival is very comprehensive in implementation of all its plans and that it will provide a fantastic bouquet of entertainment through a calendar of more than 200 events, knowledge and winnings for all the family members. This satisfies the desires of all its multinational residents and visitors of the Dubai Shopping Festival 2004.

Said Al Nabouda, "Today, Dubai is launching one of the biggest tourism projects, which visitors from the entire world await every year again ensuring that the UAE retains its status as the pioneer in launching the economic and tourism projects.

"A total number of 150 promotions will be presented by the Key Sponsors and Support Sponsors of DSF, totalling a value of over 1 million dollars every day including cars, cash and gold.

Al Nabouda expects that DSF will witness an 8% increase in the number of visitors against the same figure last year, and the number of visitors is expected to exceed 3 million according to the initial estimates received from travel agencies and hotels. Hotels have reported a total expected occupancy level of 90-95% in the first week of DSF and it is expected that in the coming two weeks, the hotels will enjoy 100% occupancy, especially in the Eid Al Addha holidays, the snow vacations in Europe and the Chinese New Year vacations.

Remarking on the increase in the number of Sponsors and Support Sponsors for the event, Al Nabouda said, "The number of key sponsors has increased this DSF to 20 Key Sponsors, and we have received an overwhelming response from the business community which has taken the total number of Support Sponsors to 105. The international and local companies constituting the Sponsors will offer some fantastic promotions to our shoppers."

Al Nabouda also appreciated the efforts of the Organising Committee of the Festival constituted by staff from the Government Departments, which endeavours to improve on the quality of events every year.

Al Nabouda pointed out that DSF in its ninth year is yet again celebrating the 'One World, One Family, One Festival' theme for the fourth consecutive year, because it has been very successful in assimilating all the meanings and values associated with the festival and it has also helped to choose from a wide variety of activities, whereby transforming UAE into a meeting place for families of all nationalities.

Al Nabouda added that the Dubai International Airport, specially decorated to receive the the DSF visitors and the Department of Civil Aviation is ensuring that all DSF visitors receive a special welcome. The Department of Naturalisation and Residency has organised that DSF visitors will be greeted by a special team of students dressed in traditional finery from 27 different countries.

Al Nabouda said, "The events of DSF 2004 has evolved to reflect the changing trends over the years. The goals and the aims of the Festival have also evolved to enmesh the various cultures and nationalities who visit Dubai during DSF."

Al Nabouda extended a warm invitation to all the residents of UAE and visitors to participate in the various events and informed the public that the details of the Festival would be announced by the Ahlan Dubai service on 600 54 5559 or on its website at www.mydsf.ae.

Nabouda also said that there will be interaction from the resident of UAE and the Dubai Shopping Festival to offer hospitality to the guests from all over the world and to portray the Arabic hospitality and be the ambassadors of the nation.

Nabouda said, several precautions are being taken to offer safety and security to all the visitors of DSF in co-ordination with Dubai Police and the Department of Civil Defence.
