Participating exhibitors were unanimous in their opinion that the event provided a one-of-its kind networking opportunity to conduct business and conclude deals during the three-day show.
Organisers Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) announced that the event registered a phenomenal growth of 39.6% in the number of visitors over the previous year with a noticeable improvement in the quality of visitors.
'GITEX Hyderabad has lived up to its promise by providing exhibitors with an ideal platform to conduct business, network and meet with a high profile of visitors and the footfall from the general public too has been exceptionally encouraging with the result that we have had a substantial increase of almost 40% in the number of visitors to the show,' said DWTC General Manager Exhibitions, Leasing and Operations, Abdulla T. Qassem.
Prominent among the companies that confirmed business at the show included Bangalore-based Fraser Techno Circuits Ltd. who used the opportunity to meet with IT vendors to appoint a dealer for their products as well as introduce their range to the AP market. 'We have decided to confirm our participation at next year's event,' said Narendra Damani, Head Technical Marketing - Product Innovations.
Anup Bodaji, Director Canontronics Office Equipments Pvt. Ltd. was in high spirits following his participation at the event and remarked, 'This was really a test marketing visit for us and we are pleased at the response especially for our wide range of inkjet cartridges and I had to actually hire additional stand hostesses to assist with the constant flow of serious business inquiries,' he observed.
'GITEX 2004 has proved to be an excellent showcase for both Advent Publishing Systems and its partner company Kolam Information Systems,' said Simon Jackson, Global Marketing Manager, Advent 3B2. 'The main purpose of our attendance was to raise the profile of Kolam and Advents technology 3B2 with potential employees and the stand attracted a large number of interested individuals, keen to work with our market leading global software, enabling them to utilize cutting edge XML development which delivers content rich, multilingual documentation for traditional print and electronic distribution,' he said.
Color Chips India Ltd. who participated at GITEX with a nine square metre stand signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Gwangju Information & Culture Industry Promotion Agency (GITCT) for the express purpose of collaborating and developing strategic business and alliances. The MOU was signed in the presence of Honorable Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu.
Abhimanyu Shaunik, General Manager Palas Software, a Delhi-based company who participated at the event for the first time said, 'We are thoroughly impressed with the organization of the event as well as this state-of-the-art venue and business in Hyderabad is definitely picking up which makes it important for us to participate.'
WeP Peripherals announced that they have decided on opening a fourth print centre in Hyderabad following their successful participation at the event. The company already has a centre in Chennai, Bangalore and Delhi. WeP also plan to set up countrywide printer networks by opening 10,000 print points across India.
'We are satisfied with the response and the deals conducted during the three-day event and the success of the event is even sweeter because it has been achieved against the backdrop of a number of events taking place in the city simultaneously,' stressed Mr. Qassem.
GITEX Hyderabad has emphatically accentuated the potential opportunities that the state of Andhra Pradesh offers IT industries seeking to expand their operations throughout the country. 'The event has been organized with the extensive support provided by the Government of Andhra Pradesh and the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Honorable, N. Chandrababu Naidu who has done his utmost to promote the state as a favored IT destination in the country with its rapidly developing infrastructure and IT-friendly policies,' Mr. Qassem concluded.
Dealers appointed, business contracted & MOUs signed at GITEX Hyderabad
Trade visitors, IT professionals and the general public exceeding 6,283 in number visited the third edition of GITEX Hyderabad that concluded at the HITEX International Exhibition Centre in Madhapur (Hyderabad, India) yesterday.
