Following a year of robust growth, the Dubai-based company - which provides Sun with a number of critical services, including pre-sales technical support, training, marketing, plus high level product service and technical support - plans to further capitalize on its success in the region.
'In 2004 Tech Access will expand on and strengthen its achievements over the last year by continuing to support Sun's position as a leading solutions provider for the Middle East's biggest companies,' said Shomail Ghalib, managing director, Tech Access.
Over the last 12 months, Tech Access has extended its support to Sun partners across the Middle East and North Africa by opening satellite offices in Egypt, Morocco, and Saudi Arabia. These offices have provided resellers with direct links to specialists and experts in their own countries.
The offices have also supported resellers in neighboring countries, with the Morocco branch, for example, serving Algeria, Mauritania, and Tunisia. In the coming year Tech Access will continue to develop its role in these markets to provide a platform for future growth success across the whole Middle East.
'These three regional offices have given Tech Access a strong foothold across the region. Progress will continue to be made in extending Sun's market share both in these territories and the wider region,' Ghalib added.
Building on this success, Tech Access' Solutions Center, a Sun Authorized iForce Ready Center based at Dubai Internet City, has already beat its original revenue target by achieving US $500,000 in Sun-based technology solutions every quarter.
The US $1 million facility provides 'proof-of-concept' prototype solutions enabling companies to test their systems before buying so they can be sure of solid returns on their investments.
Since the launch of the iForce center in July 2002, companies across the Gulf and North Africa, including Habib Bank AG Zurich, International Foodstuffs Company (IFFCO), and Ducab, have assessed the practicality of business solutions by reviewing 'Proof-of-Concepts' before committing to purchases.
Mid-market solution providers such as AstrolabeIT, a fast growing sales and distribution provider, Borderware security solutions, and ETA Infotech's fleet management solutions, have all signed iForce partnership agreements with Tech Access in 2003.
In the coming year, Tech Access will focus on its core business objectives: expanding the relationship with resellers across the Middle East, while providing technical support and solutions for Sun's range of innovative systems.
'Tech Access enjoyed a successful year of business in the UAE, with strategic alliances formed and new ventures started that will drive sales and profitability across the region. In 2004 we will continue to demonstrate the benefits of doing business with Tech Access and Sun Microsystems,' Ghalib concluded.
