'QSi is the Asian sports industry event of 2004, held in the host city of the 2006 Asian Games,' said Muttaleb Ahmad, Director General of OCA. 'Therefore it is of huge interest to the Olympic Council of Asia, and a natural context for our major council meetings.'
Senior delegates from all 44 member OCA nations will be available to participate in all aspects of QSi 2004, delivering valuable added benefit to all participants. Of particular interest will be delegates from China, hosts of the 2008 Olympic Games, and India, hosts of the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
The OCA major council meetings will run in tandem with QSi's own conference, workshops and sports business Expo, where international sports business executives and sporting professionals can network and do business. The 2002 QSi conference attracted over 500 participants to its most popular sessions, and the 2004 conference promises to build on this successful formula. Mr Muttaleb Ahmad added that 'the OCA family is eagerly looking forward to being in Doha to celebrate the 2nd QSi event'.
QSi 2004 has once again appointed World Sports Forum (WSF) as international partner to deliver a highly imaginative conference programme. Utilising its impressive sports federations, sporting personality and sports industry network, WSF will facilitate the debate of a variety of contemporary issues such as athletes and corporate responsibilities, racism and politics in sports, women and sports, media, sponsorship and sports business issues. WSF is the forum of the World Federation of Sporting Goods Industries, the official industry body of the major global sports brands.
Andre Gorgemans, CEO of WSF said, 'the global sports industry has taken particular note of the active participation in the 2002 conference of over 500 Gulf national women. My industry colleagues and I, are looking forward to QSi 2004 stimulating further lively debate in this rapidly developing and largely untapped area of the Asian sports market.'
