Brunel University to launch scholarship program targeting UAE nationals

Brunel University the launch of their scholarship program for 2004, targeting UAE nationals, during a session held recently at the British Council offices in Dubai.

Claire Collingwood from Brunel University pointed out that UAE students would be eligible for three New Route PhD Scholarships, three International Students Ambassador Scholarships, and five international students' bursaries for a total of 11 scholarships.

"We have a total of three UAE nationals currently enrolled in our postgraduate program and we hope to increase this number in the future, and that is why some of the scholarships will target nationals, while other scholarships will be open to overseas students living in the UAE who can meet the various criteria and requirements of each program," she added.

The GBP 100,000 scholarship fund offers scholarships ranging from partial to full scholarships to students with strong academic background. There are three International Student Ambassador Scholarships, available to outstanding students who can bring both academic excellence and a breadth of non-academic skills to Brunel University. The three scholarships will cover full tuition fees for a one year Masters program.

"A one year Masters program can cost from GBP 7,665 to GBP11,300 depending on the program. The scholarships would cover the costs of whichever program the students were selected for," Collingwood explained.

She pointed out that the program is designed specifically for international students who would like to study at Brunel University in West London in the UK. It is intended to encourage and facilitate a wide range of students attending Brunel University and reflects its international commitment to ensuring continued diversity amongst its student population.

Brunel International is part of Brunel University, which is located in West London, in the UK. The University has a student population of 13,000 students, of which 1,600 are international students coming from over 100 countries. The university offers courses in a wide range of subjects, including Business and Management, Law, Engineering and Biological Sciences.
