- United Arab Emirates: Monday, January 19 - 2004 at 15:40
- PRESS RELEASE
Hamburger University conducted a new training course in Dubai for McDonald's managers from the Middle East, Africa and the Sub-Continent.
"McDonald's restaurants in the region used to send their managers to Oak Brook - USA. Today, our team of local Arab experts is able to conduct such major advanced courses in the region," said Mohamed Atwa, Operations and Training Director for McDonald's Middle East and Africa.
McDonald's local owners in the Middle East, Africa and the Sub-Continent are continuing their commitment to their employees to develop their management skills by bringing to them the Restaurant Leadership Practice course, one of the most important Hamburger University courses. The University is designed exclusively to instruct personnel employed by McDonald's, or employed by McDonald's Independent owners in the various aspects of the business to achieve 100% customer satisfaction.
Restaurant Leadership Practices is an ongoing training system applied through series of courses conducted for McDonald's employees in the region. The one-week course, which culminates 2 years of intensive restaurant training was taught by Arab instructors from Egypt, Kuwait and Lebanon, gave the participants the opportunity to work in teams to solve a variety of complex problems, simulating the business environment of a local restaurant. The class reinforced concepts of decision-making and managing the business to positively impact a high performing team. Participants learned how to create processes to improve restaurant operations and develop key skills to lead the restaurant in consistently delivering quality, service, cleanliness and value to each of its customers.
"We expose our team in each local market to intensive ongoing training courses, as they are the key factor behind our success. We train our own people, listen to them, enhance their skills, cultivate their attitude, and make them feel proud of working at McDonald's", said Rafic Fakih, Managing Director of McDonald's UAE.
