Nakheel's International City sponsors second round of Triple Crown Championship and Dubai Maiden Stakes

International City, the internationally themed residential, commercial and tourism project by Nakheel, has announced they will sponsor the second round of the Emirates International Endurance Racing 'Triple Crown Championship' and 'Dubai Maiden Stakes'.
"This is the second year a Nakheel development has sponsored this event and we are very proud of this ongoing association", said Wahid Attalla, Director of Operations for Nakheel. "Sporting events like endurance racing are an integral part of this countries culture and Nakheel is keen to ensure it continues to grow in popularity and awareness both locally and internationally".
"This event is run according to international standards. Similarly, International City will offer the very best of international standards with ethnically themed residential, commercial and tourist elements blending together in the one development. Overall, International City will complement Dubai's growing reputation as a significant trade, investment, residential and tourist hub", continued Attalla.
The 'Triple Crown Championship' and 'Maiden Stakes' comprise of a series of three rounds with the first round having already taken place on 18 December and the final round scheduled to be run in March. Both races are for riders 75kg and above, and take place over five stages.
The 'Dubai Maiden Stakes' is the first ever such competition in the UAE for riders and horses that have not previously won an FEI event.
Over 100 hundred riders have already registered for the races including many of the finest UAE and International endurance riders. The riders are competing in each round for valuable points that accumulate towards the overall championship. Significant prize money is also on offer during each round with the total prize money equaling US$1.5million.
The races will commence at 6.15am and the UAE Union of Horse Riding will supervise the events.
International City is the latest project by Dubai based property developers Nakheel. Located in the Al Warsan area of Dubai, the pre-designed complex will be set over an incredible 800 hectares of land.
The development will be made up of six key areas, including The Central District, Dubai Gates, The Dragon Mart, The Residential District, Lakes District and The Forbidden City.
