  • PRESS RELEASE

Global and regional digital leader, LG Electronics has topped global sales for air-conditioners for the fourth straight year in a row.

According to JARN, a major Japanese magazine specializing in air conditioners, LGE outsold the second-place air conditioner maker almost two-fold.

"LGE sold a total of 8 million units of air conditioners on the global market of 43 million air conditioners, taking an 18.6% market share," said Mr. K. H. Kim, President, LG Electronics Middle East and Africa Operations. "This means that one of every five air conditioners sold in 2003 was LG's.

"Holding the top spot for four years in a row is a rare feat on the global market and we will continue to exert efforts to keep our number one position with new technologies and new products."

Kim attributed LG's success to efficient use of overseas production bases, targeted region-specific marketing strategies, its adoption of the world's best core technologies and ownership of its core parts business.
