Crown Princess of Sweden visits Tetra Pak in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

Her Royal Highness was greeted at Tetra Pak's modern factory on the JCCI Warehouse City by Mr. Amar Zahid, Managing Director of Tetra Pak Saudi Arabia and the management team who then provided a tour to inspect the full scope of the company's hi-tech manufacturing operations. The visit to Tetra Pak Saudi Arabia is part of a visit to the Kingdom to attend the Jeddah Economic Forum where Her Highness will be delivering a keynote address to the Jeddah business community.

The Crown Princess was joined on her visit to the factory by senior Swedish government officials, including H.E. Mr. Gunnar Lund, Minister for International and Economic Affairs and Financial Markets, His Excellency Mr. Hans Dahlgren, State Secretary, Ministry for Foreign Affairs and His Excellency Mr. Åke Karlsson, Ambassador of Sweden to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Accompanying the royal party was a business delegation representing the leading companies in Sweden including Ericsson, Alfa Laval, Atlas Copco, Volvo and Saab AB.

The visit was part of Princess Victoria's commitment to enhancing Sweden's good relations with its trading partners. Her first time in Saudi Arabia, diplomatic sources say that Her Highness had been looking forward to the visit and had welcomed to opporuntity to make new friends as well as reinforce Sweden's commitment to developing both business and cultural ties between the two Kingdoms.

Tetra Pak Saudi Arabia produces both carton and PET packaging, and both of the company's factories in Jeddah's warehouse city have been expanded to incorporate the latest technology and provide greater support to its customers around the region. This latest development took the company's overall investment to over SR200 million, allowing it to recruit and train more local manpower resources. A large part of the factories production is being consumed in Saudi Arabia, but the company also exports packaging material to at least 24 countries around the Middle East, Europe & Asia.

It is worth highlighting that Tetra Pak Saudi Arabia is part of the Swedish Tetra Laval Group, the world's leading supplier of processing and packaging solutions for food products. The company has been present in Saudi Arabia since the 1950s and has always regarded the Kingdom as one of its most important markets.
