Acer meets demands of growing 'digital home' market with launch of new Aspire
- United Arab Emirates: Thursday, January 22 - 2004 at 10:24
- PRESS RELEASE
Acer Computers (M.E.) Ltd. today announced it has launched a new model from its latest generation of entertainment-based desktop PCs - the Aspire RC900 - which can do everything from play movies and music to broadcast television and store photographs.
"Acer has been aware for the past few months that the next big trend in the region is going to be PCs that provide an entire range of home entertainment options," said Philip Ashkar, director of sales and marketing, Acer Computer (M.E.) Ltd. "With the launch of the Aspire RC900 we expect even stronger results in the home entertainment sector."
The Emergence of the 'Digital Home'
One of the major driving trends behind the development of technology is the desire to create products that make our lives easier. In Acer's view, consumers in the Middle East want devices for their homes that are able to interact with each other.
"From our perspective at Acer, we can see that the market in the Middle East is responding positively to the digital home concept. People are thrilled they are now able to buy a product, such as the Aspire RC500 or Aspire RC900, and have, in one unit, everything from a television and stereo to PC and photo album," explained Ashkar.
Acer's new Aspire RC900 - which is the second product to be released from the company's "enjoyment center" line - will meet the requirements of people wanting a desktop PC that does everything from playing films and functioning as a television to playing music or listening to the radio.
The Aspire RC900's all-in-one design and reasonable price will contribute to its popularity in the Middle East. By rolling all elements of home entertainment into one platform, the Aspire RC900 is viewed as an economical solution.
"With five entertainment modes including video, television, photo album, music, and PC functionality, the Aspire RC900 really demonstrates just how compact technology and home appliances can be," said Ashkar. "Featuring a wireless keyboard and mouse, the Aspire RC900 eliminates the mess that cables create and really helps people to save space in the home."
With a Super Dial and remote control for easy navigation, the Aspire enjoyment center is as simple to use as a standard home appliance - with the sophistication of the latest digital products available in the market.
Power Behind the Aspire RC900
With the most up-to-date processing power, the Aspire RC900 has an Intel Pentium 4 3.0Ghz 800Mhz FSB Processor with hyper threading. With a 120GB HDD, the Aspire RC900 has plenty of storage that allows for the saving of movies, music and picture files.
As one of the first PCs to feature a 7-in-1 media reader, the Aspire RC900 enables users to read directly from the most popular memory cards found in today's digital appliances.
Equipped with Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition and Worksuite, the Aspire RC900 also has a DVD SuperMultiplus Drive, DVD Drive, 56K Modem, TV-tuner card with TV-out, wireless multimedia keyboard and optical mouse, and Acer Stereo speakers with sub-woofer.
