Remarkably, this portal is one of the components of the e-government agreement signed last in the presence of President Mubarak.
Currently, more than 10 complete services are available online, and the MCIT has worked closely with concerned ministries and institutions on this project. Available services now range from requesting a birth certificate, to checking the traffic fines to taxation and customs services. Additionally, information related to more than 700 services is available on the services' portal.
The portal integrates multiple back ends and gives the user a citizen centric friendly interface and provides people with all government services through a convenient one-stop shopping technique that has been developed with a strategic alliance between the Government of Egypt and Microsoft while the government is committed to provide most of its services by 2007 online.
Egypt's e-government portal is available in Arabic and English and information and services address citizens, investors and the business community.
