Among the brands represented are US-based Invacare, Apex, Jobst and Sammon Preston, and Apex Medical from Taiwan - all of which are exclusively represented by AHH in the UAE.

Dr. Hassan Imam, Sales and Marketing Manager, Arabian Home Healthcare, explained that their participation at the exhibition ushered in a new era of rehab care for UAE residents, as most of their accessories and aids are available for the first time in the country: 'Until very recently, accident, arthritis, amputation and other patients had to seek post-treatment aids from as far as Europe and the US, and this meant long, expensive and time-consuming trips to rehabilitation centres located abroad - often with other family members in tow, to escort them.

'We are proud to report that Arabian Home Healthcare now stocks a wide range of rehabilitation aids and accessories that facilitate recovery of any patient, in any need. With convenient locations in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, this means that they do not have to travel for more than an hour from any part of the UAE, to access proper post-treatment care,' he announced. 'And since we ship in all these products in bulk, customers will find that the prices are lower here than elsewhere in the world,' he added.

Among the rehab aids and accessories available at the AHH showrooms are standing aid frames, transport wheel chairs, walkers, crutches and other mobility products, physiotherapy balls and mats, among several others. 'Of particular significance is the range of accessories for those, especially young children, who are impaired with cerebral palsy. These include specialised wheel chairs with head rest and tilt controls, special fittings for bathrooms and other aids that allow them to live a life of maximum normalcy,' Dr. Hassan added.

'Rehabilitation is a very important issue for the UAE, in the light of the high rate of accidents and diabetes prevalent here, both of which require proper care and attention in the recuperative stages,' he said. The Rehab Exhibition 2004 is a much needed and timely focus for increasing awareness among UAE's residents, and educating them on the treatments and care needed for recovery,' he added.
