Berlin Marriott hotel opens

The 379-room Berlin Marriott has opened on Potsdamer Platz as the first Marriott-branded hotel and the fourth property in Berlin operated by Marriott International.

Now through Feb. 29th, the Berlin Marriott is offering an opening rate of Euro 139 per room, per night, which also includes the breakfast buffet.

The Berlin Marriott features four food and beverage outlets, including a specialty restaurant, a casual restaurant, a lobby bar and a theme bar; an executive level and lounge and a variety of recreational amenities for guests. Featured fitness facilities include a sauna, whirlpool, a juice bar and an indoor swimming pool.

For conferences and events, the Berlin Marriott offers 14,000 square feet of meeting space, including a 9,000-square-foot ballroom that is divisible into three sections, three 500-square-foot boardrooms, and four individual 800-square-foot meeting rooms.

Additional hotel offerings include: 24-hour room service, business center, in-room mini-bar, laundry/valet service, airline/car rental/tour desk, barber and beauty shop, gift shop and parking.

Located on the northern side of Potsdamer Platz, the Berlin Marriott offers a blend of retail, entertainment and historic sites to choose from and provides easy access to Germany's official government buildings, the emerging embassy quarter and all three of the city's airports.

Within walking distance are major tourist attractions such as the Reichstag, the Brandenburg Gate, the Gendarmen Market, the Cathedral, and Berlin's largest park, the Tiergarten.

Neighboring companies include Sony, Daimler Chrysler, Debis and a number of consultancies and banks. Additional Marriott hotels in Berlin include the 196-room Courtyard by Marriott Berlin Teltow, the 190-room Courtyard by Marriott Berlin Koepenick and the 148-room Ramada Hotel Berlin-Schönefeld Airport.

The Berlin Marriott, along with over 2,300 Marriott-affiliated hotels worldwide, participates in Marriott Rewards, the guest reward program that allows members to earn their choice of points or airline miles for dollars spent during each stay.
