Eminent UK cardiologist addresses imaging and diagnostic conference at Arab Health 2004

Dr Mark Monaghan, Director of Echocardiography at King's College Hospital, London, addressed a professional audience at the 'Middle East Imaging and Diagnostics' workshop on a revolutionary area of medicine; 'Live 3D ultrasound imaging of the heart - new techniques'.

King's College Hospital is one of the nine leading NHS hospitals in London comprising the London Specialist Hospitals (LSH) group which was launched in 2003 at Arab Health, since when hospitals in the group have had a variety of patient referrals. The LSH has been well received in the Middle East region as it provides medical professionals with a single point of contact for sourcing medical intervention from a variety of disciplines.

An ongoing series of medical conferences and seminars is planned in the UAE giving doctors in the region the opportunity to benefit from the expertise of top specialists from a wide range of medical disciplines from the UK. The first of these will be held in the UAE at the end of February and feature three specialists from King's College Hospital discussing advances in the fields of Hepatology, Haematology and Neurology.

A spokesman for LSH said "We are proud to be associated with Arab Health and its programme of activities which brings together knowledge, expertise and a desire to work in partnership throughout the medical community."

Dr Monaghan is a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology and member of the British Cardiac Society, American Society of Echocardiography and British Society of Echocardiography.
