According to International Data Corporation (IDC*) figures, FSC outperformed the European SME market in the third quarter of 2003 in the sales of PCs and Intel-based servers, by achieving 18 percent year-on-year growth in a market that expanded by only 3 percent.

According to the data, FSC holds the No. 3 spot in this segment in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region, with an 11 percent market share.

FSC has now outstripped the SME market growth for the eighth consecutive quarter. The UAE and Egypt are among the countries in which FSC has achieved results in excess of market growth in the last quarter of 2003. The other countries are Denmark, France, Greece, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK, the Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, Egypt, and South Africa.

"The IDC figures strongly endorse our success in providing SME's with high quality, reliable products and solutions based on new market developments," said Jacquie Carson, Marketing & Communications Director, Fujitsu Siemens Computers. "The SME sector is very exciting, it has great potential, especially in the Middle East where the predominantly youthful population is expected to venture into small businesses, particularly in the field of IT. Furthermore, the past few years have witnessed a big leap in IT infrastructure, mainly due to the huge foreign investment flowing into the Middle East."

"Fujitsu Siemens Computers has deployed a highly effective channel infrastructure and we have harmonized our supply chain program for SME with pre-configured systems, offering the best possible price-performance ratio," added Carson. "This has allowed us to deliver outstanding regional service and value for money to our customers. The strong network of partners has helped us implement our clear strategies and outshine the competition."

Fujitsu Siemens Computers has also managed to build on its progressive new advertising and marketing campaign, targeting primarily SME customers across the EMEA sales region. This campaign, centered on the needs of SME customers, highlights the responsibility of Fujitsu Siemens Computers as the leading international computer company to translate these requirements into reliable, high-quality IT solutions.
