Zayed University & Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce organize economic conference next February

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahayan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Zayed University and Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce & Industry will organize the international economic conference 'Building a Dynamic New Prosperity in the Gulf Region Through Global Cooperation: Opportunities & Challenges' on the 22nd of February for two days (22-23 Feb) at the Beach Rotana Hotel in Abu Dhabi with the participation of Arab and European Governments, number of ministers, directors of economic and financial authorities, as well as international experts.

This was announced in the press conference that was held in Zayed University in Abu Dhabi Campus yesterday, with the attendance of Dr. Hanif Al Qassimi, Vice President of Zayed University, and Mohammed Omar Abdullah, Director General of Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce & Industry, and a number of the colleges' deans, economic professors, and officials of the chamber.

The Vice President of Zayed University stated that the conference is an international event gathering experts, interested people from both public and private sectors, university professors, scholars and experts with the aim of studying, and analyzing the factors, and current economic circumstances which reflect the economies of the gulf region through researches, studies, papers, and speeches of economic, and political experts who are participating in this conference. Among these participants, are economic experts, presidents of European and Arab governments, a number of Arab and foreign ministers and presidents of financial and economic authorities.

The Gulf Region is currently passing through an important stage which requires concentration on all the factors and reasons of the current economic and political fields regionally and internationally. During the meetings between both Zayed University and Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce & Industry, the steering committee discusses the latest achievements of the conference which are followed up by His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Higher Education & Scientific Research, President of Zayed University, who gave his instructions to provide all the appropriate and required facilities as well as transfer this important event into an international conference being held every year in Abu Dhabi.

Dr. Hanif Hassan, said: "Zayed University seeks to coordinate with the different sectors and attract international speakers who are known for their participation in economic and social fields. Such scholars and experts obtained international awards in different conferences, lectures, and forums".

He also thanked Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce & Industry, for cooperating in enhancing the ideas and efforts of different businessmen in submitting issues of high importance to the economic and political status of the region.

Mohammed Omar Abdullah, Director General of Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce, said: "This conference aims for providing the GCC decision makers the opportunities to participate in an open forum with a number of regional and international experts to discuss the trends, challenges, and economic impacts on the future of the GCC region as well as exchange ideas, opinions, and recommendations to raise our awareness with the future.

Organizing this conference is the best example of the cooperation between the Chamber and Zayed University to serve both economic and financial fields in the UAE through such conferences and occasions which highlight and enhance several local, regional, and international economic topics. The GCC countries make great efforts towards the development of the society and economy by facing the challenges of the changing world. It is very important for all decision makers to give more concern to the economic, political, and technological changes which constitute the future of the nations and enable them to exchange ideas, information and best practices.

This conference is an excellent opportunity to answer questions of utmost basic and important trends which would by all means affect the future of the whole region, benefits of such aspects on the GCC region, best practices, constitution of competitive benefits, development of knowledge and the availability of trained labour".
