EMAAR sponsors Dubai Desert Classic
- United Arab Emirates: Monday, January 26 - 2004 at 14:33
- PRESS RELEASE
EMAAR Properties, the region's premier property development company, has announced that it is to sponsor the prestigious Dubai Desert Classic which tees off on the Majlis course at Emirates Golf Club from March 4-7.
With EMAAR's Montgomerie golf club and the anticipated opening of the region's first truly desert golf course, the Desert Course, which is located at the company's Arabian Ranches development, Dubai reinforces its position as one of the world's premier golfing destinations.
Commenting on EMAAR's sponsorhip of the Desert Classic, Mohamed Ali Alabbar, Chairman, EMAAR Properties, said: "There is a strong synergy between the Dubai Desert Classic and our courses at Emirates Hills and Arabian Ranches. Both boast international standard golf courses which form the epicentre of their residential communities. This is reason enough for us to be associated with the Desert Classic."
"Golf has become an integral part of our Emirates Living concept. Both of these international standard golf courses are integral to our vision and as the standards in excellence continue to improve at the Classic, the Montgomerie and the Desert Course will follow suit," Alabbar added.
Building of the region's first boutique style hotel/clubhouse at the Montgomerie is well under way and construction for a 35,000 square feet Spanish style clubhouse at the Desert Course will be ready in October.
